As part of the exhibition activities of the Accademia di Belle Arti di Verona dedicated to the protagonists and languages of contemporary art, on Tuesday, November 23, at 12:00 noon in the Aula Magna, the work ILRadio by artist Daniele Nicolosi will be presented.

Speakers:
Francesco Ronzon, Director of the Accademia di Belle Arti di Verona;
Katia Brugnolo, Coordinator of the School of Decoration, Accademia di Belle Arti di Verona;
Ida Chicca Terracciano, curator of the project;
Daniele Nicolosi, artist;
Federica Furlani, sound designer;
Sergio Breviario, professor of Decoration, Accademia di Belle Arti di Verona;
Daniele Salvalai, professor of Sculpture, Accademia di Belle Arti di Verona.

The work will be on display in the spaces of the Academy from November 29 to December 20, 2021, from Monday to Friday, with free admission upon presentation of the Green pass at the entrance.

The attention to ethical aspects, the constant formal reinventions used to intervene in the spaces dedicated to receiving the work on each occasion and a political attitude of art oriented towards a public collection represent the privileged field of investigation where the artist's work dwells.

The installation ILRadio was created to celebrate the return to live attendance of the entire academic sector through a sound rite, to open up to a reflection on the transmission of value from the virtual to the real world, from the individual to the collective. Reconnecting with the natural phenomenon of radioactivity present in our bodies as well as in the spatial dimension, the work directly calls upon the public, and in particular the Veronese university to which it is dedicated, to take up its function and acquire meaning.

From November 12 until the end of the project, anyone will be able to upload and share their own sound contributions, without restrictions of content or origin, on the website www.ilradio.org.

Through a data collection system realized with the collaboration of Officine Tesla (Hideki Yamamoto and Federica Furlani), the installation will be activated during specific time windows designed by the artist, shaping and playing back in the environments, places and common spaces the flow of heterogeneous sound suggestions uploaded by the users.

Halfway between a village bell and a proscenium, ILRadio recovers a double social function, marking the rhythms of the daily activities of a community and giving it the opportunity to externalize itself.
